Hyderabad: Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narsimha announced on Tuesday that the government will soon establish IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) centers at Petlaburj Maternity Hospital within 15 days. Additionally, similar centers will be set up in Warangal and Nizamabad hospitals.
The Minister inaugurated the IVF center at Gandhi Hospital, aimed at helping childless couples who cannot afford expensive treatments. He also laid the foundation stone for a new hostel block at Gandhi Hospital. This is the first time an IVF center has been opened in the government sector in India. The government has brought the IVF center under the Aarogyasri health scheme, ensuring that poor women can fulfill their dream of becoming mothers.
The Health Minister criticized the previous government for failing to deliver on their promises. He said that the previous administration had been talking about setting up an IVF center for the past six years but did not take any real action. He promised that the new IVF center at Petlaburj will be ready within 15 days, and more will follow in Nizamabad and Warangal. The Health Secretary has also been asked to establish an IVF center at Sultan Bazar.
Minister Narsimha emphasized that the medical profession is one of humanity and compassion. He stated that the current government has been addressing the concerns of junior doctors. With the support of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the government has sanctioned Rs 200 crore to address these issues.
The Minister also took a jab at the previous government for not providing adequate infrastructure for new medical colleges. He stated that although the previous government had announced eight new medical colleges before the elections, they did not provide the necessary facilities. In contrast, the current administration has established eight new medical colleges in the last seven months.
Furthermore, the government plans to set up at least six cancer centers and 73 trauma centers across the state to address the growing cases of cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart diseases. The government is also focusing on improving emergency medical care in tribal areas to ensure help is available within 15 minutes.
Lastly, Minister Narsimha revealed that the government will soon lay the foundation stone for a new Osmania Hospital Building at Goshamahal, which will be built on 32 acres of land with an investment of Rs 2,000 crore. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar added that government doctors should work patiently and help dispel the misconception that government hospitals are only for the poor. He encouraged public representatives and IAS officers to seek treatment in government hospitals.
