Hyderabad: The Minister for Industries and IT, D Sridhar Babu, along with government advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir, announced full government support for the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s national convention. The event is scheduled to take place from November 15 to 17 at Wadi-e-Huda on Pahadi Shareef Road. Around 12,000 to 15,000 delegates are expected to attend.
A review meeting was held on Friday to discuss the necessary preparations for the convention. The meeting, led by Sridhar Babu, included officials from various departments such as security, sanitation, and infrastructure. The goal is to ensure that the event is safe, peaceful, and well-organized.
The organisers had earlier submitted a formal request to the government for assistance. Abdul Jabbar Siddiqui, one of the event organisers, stressed in a letter the need for government support to handle the large number of attendees, which will include families from diverse regions and backgrounds.
For the event to run smoothly, different government departments have been given specific tasks. The police will manage security and crowd control, while the Fire Safety department will handle fire prevention and emergency measures. The Municipal Administration department will ensure proper sanitation, waste management, and infrastructure. The electricity department will provide uninterrupted power, and the water supply board will ensure continuous water availability. The State Road Transport Corporation will arrange for transportation to help attendees reach the venue easily.
During the meeting, Sridhar Babu highlighted the government’s dedication to supporting events that promote social harmony and unity. He expressed confidence that the coordinated efforts of the departments would make the convention a success. He urged all officials involved to ensure a smooth experience for the delegates.
Shabbir Ali also emphasized the importance of such gatherings, stating that they showcase the State’s commitment to religious and social inclusivity. He praised Hyderabad’s history of successfully hosting large religious and social events.
