Hyderabad: The State government of Telangana is working on creating rules and regulations for its new land reform initiative, Bhu Bharathi. To make the system accessible, a user-friendly portal will soon be launched.

A workshop focused on Bhu Bharathi and the Telangana Clean and Green Energy Policy was held at the Secretariat on Tuesday. Senior government officials participated in the event. Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, in her opening remarks, described the workshop as an effort to explain two major initiatives being implemented by the government.

Principal Secretary of Revenue, Navin Mittal, gave a detailed presentation on the Telangana Bhu Bharathi Act, 2025. He explained that the government’s vision is to implement comprehensive land reforms to streamline revenue administration and improve accountability. The Act, he said, aims to create an efficient system for managing agricultural land.

Mittal further noted that the Act was developed after studying similar laws in 19 other states. A draft version of the Act had been shared publicly on July 1, 2024, to gather feedback. After incorporating suggestions from the public, the Act was approved by the legislature and received the Governor’s assent. It was officially notified in the Gazette on January 4, 2025.

In the latter part of the workshop, Principal Secretary of Energy, Sandeep Kumar Sultania, outlined the key aspects of the Telangana Clean and Green Energy Policy-2025. This policy aims to position Telangana as a leader in renewable energy. It provides incentives for projects related to solar power, pump storage, battery storage systems, and green hydrogen. The goal is to ensure energy security for the State while offering clean, reliable, and affordable power to consumers.

Several high-ranking officials, including Special Chief Secretaries Ramakrishna Rao, Ravi Gupta, Vikas Raj, Sabyasachi Ghosh, and Principal Secretaries Dana Kishore, Rizvi, and Christina Zongthu, attended the workshop. Other participants included Secretaries Buddhaprakash Jyothi, Lokesh Kumar, Yogita Rana, and Special Commissioner for I&PR, Dr. Harish, along with various other officials.
