A parked ambulance at the Palem Primary Health Center (PHC) in Nagar Kurnool caught fire on Wednesday evening. The vehicle had not been in use for a long time and was parked in an open space behind the hospital.
Hospital staff noticed the fire and tried to put it out, but the flames had already destroyed the ambulance. Fire department personnel rushed to the scene after receiving information and managed to bring the fire under control.
Medical Officer Dr. Priyanka stated that the ambulance had been out of service for a long time. According to preliminary reports, a short circuit might have caused the fire. She added that further details would be gathered after questioning the staff in the morning.
