The Telangana government has released Rs 50 crore to the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) department. These funds are meant to cover office maintenance and the purchase of vehicles.

On Tuesday, M Dana Kishore, the Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, issued an order regarding the allocation. The funds can be used for maintaining the HYDRA office, buying new vehicles, and settling bills related to demolition activities carried out so far.

The State government had initially allocated Rs 200 crore for HYDRA, out of which Rs 50 crore has now been released. HYDRA was established in July by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to focus on the conservation and restoration of lakes and parks, as well as disaster management, within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.
