India’s aviation industry is growing rapidly, creating a high demand for skilled professionals. To meet this need, GMR School of Aviation and GMR Aero Academy in Hyderabad have partnered with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia. They have signed an agreement to develop specialised academic programmes for the aviation sector.
This collaboration will introduce various courses, including diplomas, degrees, and credit transfer programmes. The focus areas will include aviation safety, airport operations, cargo management, and customer service. Additionally, new Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering will be created. These courses will also offer internships and job placements to provide students with real-world experience.
Ashok Gopinath, President and Accountable Manager of GMR Aero Academy and GMR School of Aviation, highlighted the importance of this partnership. He stated that these training programmes will help create a highly skilled workforce ready to work in the competitive aviation industry.
Through this initiative, GMR and RMIT aim to close the skill gap in aviation. By offering globally recognized qualifications, they hope to provide students and professionals with better career opportunities in the expanding aviation sector.
