Justice Chandra Ghose has started investigating the Kaleshwaram project. The Commission will look into the meetings between former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in 2016 about sharing Godavari waters.
Opposition parties have raised concerns about the agreement between the two states, alleging that Telangana may have compromised its share of water. The first agreement involved building a barrage to irrigate millions of acres of land.
Critics have accused the KCR government of corruption and favoring contractors in the Kaleshwaram project. The Ghose Commission is now gathering more information, including holding meetings with Maharashtra officials and receiving complaints from the public.
