Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar has instructed officials to assess the damage caused by heavy rains in the district. He held a meeting with MLAs, public representatives, and district officials to discuss the situation. Although the rainfall this time was less compared to previous rains, the area still experienced heavy downpours. As there are chances of more rain in the coming days, temporary repairs should be made to the damaged roads. The officials should prepare an estimate of the damage and submit a report to the government. DRDO has been asked to propose measures for removing sand from crop fields to make them suitable for agriculture. Several acres of paddy, cotton, maize, and vegetable fields have been damaged. Medical officials are advised to be prepared for any diseases or infections that may arise due to the rainy season. Temporary repairs should be made to the roads as there is still a possibility of rain.
