The Civil Supplies Department has made arrangements for farmers to easily sell their grain during the Yasangi paddy procurement process in Telangana. Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar held a review meeting with senior officials on Friday to discuss the issue. He stated that Telangana is now leading the country in Yasangi grain collection, thanks to Chief Minister KCR’s pro-farmer policies such as Rythu Bandu, Rythu Bima, 24 hours free electricity, and Kaleswaram waters. Telangana’s rice production has increased six times while other countries are experiencing a 20-year low in rice production.

As of Thursday, 1131 purchase centers have been set up across the state and one lakh metric tonnes of grain worth Rs 186 crores have been collected through them. The local administration will decide where to set up purchase centers based on the grain harvests. The government has provided 7031 purchase centers, gunny bags, moisture machines, weighing machines, porters, and tarpaulins to help with collection. The minister reminds farmers to bring fair average quality grain to the buying centers to sell.
