Ganesh Immersion Procession Concludes Peacefully in Hyderabad: Police Commissioner CV Anand

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand announced that the Ganesh immersion procession in Hyderabad ended peacefully, with no major incidents. He highlighted that this year’s event finished three hours earlier than the previous year, thanks to the cooperation of the Ganesh Utsav Committee. The Commissioner expressed his gratitude to everyone involved for ensuring a smooth and peaceful celebration.

He mentioned that the immersion process wrapped up earlier than usual, allowing all roads and major junctions in the city to reopen for traffic by 10:30 am on Wednesday. Over 1,000 idols were placed on trucks on Necklace Road and the immersion was completed by evening.

Although the police initially planned to finish the immersion by 6 or 7 am on Wednesday, some delays occurred due to the non-cooperation of a few pandal organizers. Commissioner Anand assured that next year, steps will be taken in advance to avoid such delays, including discussions with pandal organizers. He added that vehicle breakdowns and electrical wires obstructing the passage of large Ganesh idols also contributed to the delays.

In the early morning hours, Commissioner Anand walked from MJ Market to Tank Bund to help speed up the procession. By 5 am, the situation had improved significantly, and the tail end of the procession had reached MJ Market with a few hundred vehicles on nearby roads. He praised the South Zone pandals for their cooperation in moving their idols early and crossing Nayapul by 10:30 pm.

Commissioner Anand also extended special thanks to the Khairtabad Ganesh Utsav Committee for their cooperation, ensuring the immersion of the giant idol was completed by 1:30 pm on Tuesday. He added that 25,000 police personnel, including 15,000 from Hyderabad, were deployed to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival. He concluded by thanking the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and other government departments for their excellent coordination over the 11-day celebration.
