Kothagudem district Collector Priyanka Ala has given approval for preparations for Ganesh immersion in the Godavari river in Bhadrachalam. She inspected the immersion site at the Godavari bathing ghats with the help of ITDA PO Prateek Jain and Bhadrachalam ASP Paritosh Pankaj. It is the official’s responsibility to ensure that pilgrims coming from far away do not face any issues.
Barricades should be set up at the immersion site as pilgrims arrive in Bhadrachalam on the third day of the festival to immerse their Ganesha idols in the Godavari. Expert swimmers and cranes provided by SCCL and ITC should be ready for the submersion. The immersion site should have proper lighting and sanitation, according to the Collector.
Precautions should be taken to restrict vehicular traffic on the Godavari bridge and from Cherla and Kunavaram, as there will be a large number of devotees on the final day of Ganesh Navaratri.
Clean drinking water should be provided at the camps set up by volunteer organizations, and food should be given to devotees if needed. Police and fire service employees must be on duty 24/7 to assist the devotees.
