The Shilparamam Gandhi Shilp Bazar was inaugurated by several dignitaries, including Sri Lakshman Rao Atkuri, Regional Director of the Southern Region Development of Commissioner Handicrafts. Additional Director Smt. Aparna, Shilparamam Special Officer Sri Kishan Rao, and General Manager Sri Narsimhulu were also present for the event.
The bazar features the participation of around 150 handicrafts artisans from different parts of the country. These skilled artisans bring a wide variety of traditional and unique crafts to the mela for visitors to explore.
The event will be open to the public every day until January 17, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Visitors can find a range of items such as wooden dolls, folk paintings, hand-printed dress materials, sarees, silver filigree, Bidri art, bamboo and cane products, tie-and-dye fabrics, lacework, Bastar iron crafts, zari jardosi, and dry flower decorations, among many others.
As part of the event’s cultural programs, Smt. Nirmal Vishweshwar Rao and her students performed a Kuchipudi dance, adding a vibrant touch to the mela’s atmosphere.
