Gandhi Inaugurates Mother and Child Hospital in Hyderabad

Health Minister T Harish Rao has announced that the newly constructed Mother and Child Hospitals will provide specialized care for pregnant women and infants, helping to save lives. The minister inaugurated the 200 bedded MCH in Gandhi Hospital, which cost Rs 52 crore. He also flagged off 33 Neonatal ambulances, one for each district. The minister praised the efforts of doctors in reducing the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in the state.

The government plans to build three MCH hospitals in Hyderabad, with upcoming facilities at NIMS and Alwal TIMS. These hospitals will provide treatment for pregnant women with multiple problems and allow them to give birth under the guidance of expert doctors. The hospitals will also offer combined services such as dialysis and delivery, a first for government hospitals in the country. The minister believes that these MCH hospitals will greatly benefit poor patients.

In an effort to reduce infant mortality, the government has provided 33 Neonatal ambulances equipped with transport ventilators, oxygen, and other necessary facilities. This will ensure that infants with complications can be saved as they are transported to Hyderabad. The minister also commended the efficiency of doctors in government hospitals, evident from the increased number of deliveries taking place there.

The Gandhi Hospital is set to introduce infertility centers in Gandhi and Petlaburz hospital, as well as an organ transplant facility on the 8th floor. Today, a liver retrieval procedure was performed on a brain dead patient at Gandhi Hospital, with plans to transplant it into a patient undergoing treatment at Osmania Hospital. Additionally, a kitchen has been established at Gandhi Hospital, and the diet charges have been increased. The hospital now has 500 beds dedicated to women alone. The minister expressed gratitude to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for providing the necessary budget.

Lastly, the Gandhi Hospital has received an ISO certificate, a rare achievement for a government hospital.
