Union Minister Kishan Reddy extended Christmas greetings and called for unity in working towards a stronger India. He addressed the media after distributing blankets at a program organized by Bharat Sevashram Sangam in Lower Tank Bund. Reddy wished all Christian brothers and sisters on the eve of Christmas and emphasized the need to move forward together, regardless of caste, religion, region, or language.
Reddy mentioned that December 25th is the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which is also observed as Good Governance Day. The government, Bharatiya Janata Party, and various educational institutions are organizing celebrations to honor Vajpayee’s legacy. Reddy highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in providing corruption-free and efficient governance, following the footsteps of Vajpayee.
He acknowledged the development and welfare programs initiated by Vajpayee, such as the Valmiki Ambedkar Awas Yojana for improving living conditions and the Sadak Yojana for road development. Reddy also praised Vajpayee for showcasing India’s capabilities to the world through the Kargil victory and Pokhran nuclear tests.
Reddy referred to Vajpayee as the foundation for building a new India with good governance and declared his birth anniversary as Good Governance Day. Meetings, blood donation camps, and service programs will be organized to commemorate the occasion.
