New Delhi is getting ready to host the G-20 leaders. The International Media Centre in the Bharat Mandapam complex will be the main hub for broadcasting the G-20 meetings to the world. The media centre will have facilities like broadband connectivity, media lounges, and kiosks for both domestic and international media delegates.

The media centre can accommodate over 3,000 delegates and has small booths for one-on-one interviews, briefing rooms of different capacities, and live stand-up positions for media persons. The summit proceedings will be recorded in ultra high definition (UHD) and 4K broadcast technologies, which is a first for India.

Various exhibitions have been set up at the media centre to showcase India’s digital economy, culture, handicrafts, and artifacts. The ‘One District, One Product’ initiative highlights India’s diverse culture and the evolution of democracy in the country. The crafts bazaar will feature items like the ‘Telia Rumal’ from Telangana and the mesmerizing Kalamkari art from Andhra Pradesh.

The ‘Telia Rumal’ is a special cloth treated with sesame or castor oil before dyeing, giving it a distinct smell and water-repelling properties. It is commonly used by local fishermen. Kalamkari is an art form that involves painting or printing on cloth using vegetable dyes.

New Delhi is excited to showcase its rich heritage and culture to the G-20 leaders and the world.
