Hyderabad: Hundreds of school students received important eye care and medical check-ups in Hussainialam in Old City on Monday. Charminar MLA Mir Zulfiqar Ali inaugurated a large free eye and medical camp at a local school in Hussainialam.
The camp was organised by the Rotary Club of Hyderabad and the Sakina Foundation, in partnership with Saberi’s Eye Hospital, located at 12th Avenue, Hussainialam. It provided vital eye screenings to hundreds of students, staff, parents, and local community members.
This event marked the 101st free eye and medical camp organised by the Sakina Foundation. Mohammed Asif Hussain Sohail from the foundation stressed the importance of regular eye and health check-ups, especially in underserved areas where access to healthcare is limited. He pointed out that untreated vision problems and other health issues can significantly affect the quality of life, especially for children, whose school performance may decline without proper care.
Asif Sohail also announced plans to organise more such camps, focusing on improving healthcare access for underprivileged communities. He highlighted that better healthcare access can greatly improve the lives of individuals and strengthen communities as a whole.
These camps not only offer essential healthcare services but also help raise awareness about the importance of preventive care, which can lead to a healthier and more resilient society.
Several notable people, including Syed Sohail Quadri, the Pathergatti Corporator, Dr. Asad Hussaini Saberi, Iftekhar Hussain, a trustee of Faiz-e-Alam Trust, Rotarian M. A. Waheed, and Zeeshan Hyder, were also present at the event.
