Four individuals sentenced to life imprisonment in the Pinky murder case

A court in Rajasthan has sentenced 30 people to life imprisonment in the Phool Mohammad murder case. The convicted individuals are Mamatha Jah, Vikas Kashyap, Amarkanth Jah, and Anil Jah. They are from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The victim, Pinky alias Shalini, was a pregnant woman who was brutally murdered in Gachibowli in 2018.

Shalini was married to Dinesh from UP and had children. Vikas, who was from the same village, had an affair with her. Shalini and Dinesh moved to Bihar, where Dinesh developed illicit relations with Mamatha. They later shifted to Hyderabad, where frequent arguments over the affair led to Vikas plotting to kill Shalini.

In January 2018, Mamatha and Vikas had an argument with Shalini, which resulted in her collapsing on the ground. Despite being eight months pregnant, she was punched and kicked until she died. The perpetrators then bought a marble cutting machine, sliced her body into pieces, and dumped them near Sriram Nagar colony after wrapping them in polythene covers and gunny bags.

The Gachibowli police arrested the suspects within two weeks and collected 81 material objects related to the case. During the trial, the court examined 65 witnesses. The four convicted individuals had been in jail as undertrial prisoners for the past six years and were also detained under the Preventive Detention Act. The Cyberabad Police Commissioner commended the efforts of the investigation officer and team for securing a conviction in the case.
