Telangana’s Health Minister, T Harish Rao, congratulated the State TB officials for the recognition and stated that Telangana is steadily working towards completely eliminating TB in the coming years. He added that Telangana is currently placed third in the country in terms of fully eliminating TB.

The State has increased TB testing, healthcare facilities, and even provides free tests for family members if one has tested positive for TB. The treatment is also provided free of cost. Joint Director (TB) Dr A Rajesham and District Medical and Health Officers (DM&HOs) from the four districts received the award on behalf of the State government.

Telangana’s efforts to eliminate TB are commendable and serve as an inspiration for other states to follow suit. With continued efforts and support, India can work towards achieving its goal of eliminating TB by 2025.
