Ex-Serviceman Arrested for Wife’s Murder in Meerpet
A shocking crime has come to light in Meerpet, where an ex-serviceman is accused of killing his wife, dismembering her body, and cooking some parts before disposing of them in a lake. The accused, Guru Murthy, aged 45, is a former Army man who currently works as a security guard for DRDO in Kanchanbagh. He has been arrested in connection with this gruesome case.
Murthy lived with his wife, Venkata Madhavi, aged 35, and their two children in a rented house in New Venkateshwara Nagar Colony in Meerpet. According to sources, the couple had been experiencing marital problems and frequently argued in recent days.
On January 18, Madhavi was reported missing. Murthy informed her family about her disappearance and even filed a missing person’s report with the Meerpet police. To avoid suspicion, he joined Madhavi’s family in searching for her and pretended to have no knowledge of her whereabouts.
However, Murthy’s behavior raised suspicions. The police detained him for questioning, during which he confessed to killing his wife. Authorities later visited the crime scene to gather evidence. A murder case has been registered, and Murthy remains in custody as the investigation continues.
