Former SIB chief being investigated for phone tapping

Former State Intelligence Bureau Chief T Prabhakar Rao is currently being investigated by the police. He called a top police official to say he was getting cancer treatment in the USA and would return in July. Two arrested police officers revealed that phones of prominent realtors, jewelers, and businessmen were tapped illegally.

After the arrest of two additional SPs, Thirupathanna and N Bhujanga Rao, the Hyderabad police implicated Prabhakar Rao and former deputy commissioner P Radha Krishna Rao in the phone tapping case. A Look Out Circular has been issued for Prabhakar Rao. The police claim that Prabhakar Rao ordered the illegal phone tapping of political leaders and businessmen.
