The Anti-Corruption Bureau has completed a raid at the residence of Sivabalakrishna, the former director of HMDA and the current RERA secretary. The raid also included searches at the residences of his close relatives, friends, and colleagues. During the raid, cash amounting to Rs. 84 lakh 60 thousand, 2 kg of gold, 5.5 kg of silver, watches worth Rs. 32 lakhs, 3 villas, 3 flats, and 90 acres of land were found at Sivabalakrishna’s house. The land was found to be in his name as well as in the name of benamis, and its market value is estimated to be around Rs. 60 crores. The total assets, including market value, are estimated to be up to Rs. 75 crores. Searches are ongoing at four other places.

A case has been registered against Sivabalakrishna and he will appear before the court on Friday. He will be taken into custody for questioning as he did not cooperate with the investigation. On Wednesday, the Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted searches at 17 places, including the houses and offices of Sivabalakrishna and his relatives. The search operation began at 5 am and was carried out by eight teams across the state. Sivabalakrishna held a key position in the HMDA planning department from 2018 to 2023. The Anti-Corruption Bureau took action based on allegations of accumulating assets beyond income and abuse of power. During the search, items such as iPhones, expensive watches, cash bundles, gold jewelry, and land documents related to 70 acres were seized from his house in Manikonda.
