Jadi Srinivas, a government teacher, poet, and singer from Gopal Rao peta village in Dharmaram mandal of Peddepelly district, was awarded the Sahitya Ratna National Award in New Delhi. He received the award for his contribution to Telangana folk songs and his efforts to raise social awareness through his music. The award was presented at the fourth All India Bahujana Writers’ Conference, which took place on Sunday under the chairmanship of Bahujana Sahitya Akademi national president Nalla Radhakrishna. Jadi Srinivas captivated the audience with his folk songs during the event. Many speakers commended him as a well-known folk artist who is making significant contributions to the field of folk music.
