Hyderabad Gears Up for 84th All-India Industrial Exhibition (Numaish)
Hyderabad is all set to host the 84th All-India Industrial Exhibition, popularly known as Numaish. This year, the event will begin on January 3, instead of the usual January 1, due to a seven-day national mourning period declared by the Union government following the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The exhibition is a grand event with over 2,000 stalls offering a wide range of products, including clothing, food, accessories, and household items. Traders from various parts of the country, such as Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Lucknow, and Odisha, will showcase their unique handicrafts, handlooms, and industrial products. Around 1,500 exhibitors, including State and Central government departments, will participate. The event will run until February 15 and will be inaugurated by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Visitors can attend from 4 pm to 10:30 pm on weekdays, with extended hours until 11 pm on weekends and public holidays.
D. Suresh Kumar, the convener of the Exhibition Society, highlighted the significant improvements made this year. Walkways have been upgraded to accommodate wheelchair users, women, and senior citizens. A modern firefighting system has been installed, along with CCTV cameras for added security. Essential amenities such as ATMs, a health dispensary, a 24/7 ambulance service, and mobile toilets are also available. Women-managed stalls have been given prime locations as in previous years.
Special attention has been paid to safety measures to ensure a secure environment for visitors. Hyderabad Metro Rail will operate additional trains with higher frequency to accommodate the crowd, and TSRTC will run special buses for the event.
Numaish promises to be a vibrant showcase of India’s rich culture and craftsmanship, making it a much-awaited event for locals and visitors alike.
