Uttarakhand now has its first Vande Bharat Express train, which travels from Dehradun to New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the train on Thursday at 11 a.m. The train is part of Modi’s plan to create more environmentally friendly modes of public transport and electrify train lines across the country.

The Vande Bharat train boasts top-notch amenities and is outfitted with Kavach technology and other cutting-edge safety features. The regular operations of the Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express will start on May 29. The train will travel 302 kilometres in four hours and 45 minutes. It will operate every day but Wednesday, six days a week.
