The Cyient Foundation, which is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Cyient Ltd., has laid the foundation for the first Rural Skill Development Centre in Mahabubnagar. This is being done in partnership with the 100 Days Later Foundation, which was established to enhance rural skill development, especially among girls. The Rural Skill Development Centre will provide free training and employment assistance to financially disadvantaged rural girls, starting with a pilot batch of 100 girls who will be trained in Electronic Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, and Healthcare industries.
The IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao expressed his gratitude to the Cyient Foundation for establishing the Rural Skill Development Centre in Mahabubnagar. He emphasized the importance of skilling to make the youth employable and stressed the need to reskill and upskill with emerging technologies. Pratinya Bodanapu, Project Lead of the 100 Days Later Foundation, highlighted the significance of skilling girls to create a sustainable livelihood for themselves and build a thriving community.
The Founder Chairman and Board Member of Cyient, Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, emphasized that societies can unlock the potential of rural populations by investing in skill development programs tailored to their needs. He also stressed that promoting women’s employment in rural areas will lead to more inclusive and prosperous communities. The Rural Skill Development Centre aims to scale its impact on livelihoods by empowering 1000 girls every year through collaborations with regional NGOs and implementation partners.
