First-Ever IPL Final on 'Reserve Day' to Witness CSK vs. GT Face-off

The final match of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) has been postponed due to heavy rain. The match will now take place on Monday, May 29 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Physical tickets for the original match will be valid for the rescheduled match.

The rain began half an hour before the toss and continued for more than two-and-a-half hours. Although the covers were taken off and the super soppers were in action, heavy rain returned, forcing players off the pitch and resulting in serious puddles on the covers and exposed parts of the outfield. The IPL final has a reserve day if the match is not able to start by a certain time, which is 12:06am in this year’s case. If necessary, there will be a five-overs per-side contest. There are no predictions of rain for the rescheduled match.
