Fifteen government degree students from Telangana embark on study tour to the UK

Fifteen girl students from government-run degree colleges in Telangana were recently given the opportunity to participate in a two-week study tour in the United Kingdom as part of the Scholarships for Outstanding Undergraduate Talent (SCOUT) program. This program is a result of an operational alliance agreement between the Telangana government and the British Council. The students, who come from underprivileged backgrounds, were selected on merit basis, with five from Government Degree Colleges, six from Social Welfare Residential Degree Colleges, and four from Tribal Welfare Residential Degree Colleges. They departed for the UK on Sunday.

During their tour, the girl students will visit the University of Glasgow in Scotland to take a short-term course on skilling, as well as visit research facilities in the university. The students will be accompanied by two faculty members. The girls expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Commissioner of Collegiate and Technical Education Navin Mittal for this opportunity.
