Female entrepreneurs in Telangana State pioneering eco-innovation and empowerment in Hyderabad

Female entrepreneurs in the startup industry are making a big impact by innovating eco-friendly products and inspiring other women to lead independent lives. ArunjyothiLokhande and Pratibha Bharathi are two such entrepreneurs who are setting an example in society.

ArunjyothiLokhande, from Nalgonda, created compost seed paper that enriches the soil and helps saplings grow. Pratibha Bharathi developed a bio-compostable bag made from natural starch, serving as a sustainable alternative to single-use plastics. Both innovations were supported by the Telangana State Innovation Cell.

ArunjyothiLokhande, a homemaker turned entrepreneur, started collecting kitchen scraps in 2005 to create compost. After many experiments, she successfully created compost seed paper in 2020. This paper not only helps with waste management and hygiene but also supports plant growth through embedded seeds, promoting green cover and soil fertility.

She plans to expand her product to empower more women by turning compost paper into invitation paper. Pratibha Bharathi, the founder of Natures Bio Plastic Pvt Ltd, aims to reduce plastic waste by producing biodegradable plastic products using vegetable waste and natural starch.

She also participates in the “International Visitor Leadership Programme” to learn about American small businesses and culture, as well as government regulations. This helps her understand different business strategies and market shares between countries.
