Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, the Program Coordinator at KVK Palem, explained that the goal of this initiative is to encourage more farmers to grow oilseed crops like castor. To support this, demonstration fields covering 45 acres have been set up. These fields will help educate farmers on the best inputs and farming practices for growing castor.

As part of the program, Dr. B. Rajashekhar, an extension scientist, provided farmers with PCH 11 seeds, which are known for their high yield. He also shared important tips on how to manage the crop effectively. Additionally, Dr. Shail, an entomologist, taught the farmers about integrated pest management techniques that are specifically suited for castor cultivation.

The event was attended by a large number of farmers from Parvathapur and Chegunta, along with the scientific team from KVK. This initiative aims to boost farmers’ knowledge and improve their farming practices for better crop production.
