Hyderabad: The Congress party on Saturday gathered farmers from Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts to show their support for the Musi project.
Opposition parties have been questioning the Telangana government’s intentions regarding the Rs 1 lakh crore project. In response, the Congress party took action by involving farmers in the discussion. The party leaders organized a meeting with farmers who have been impacted by the polluted Musi river.
It is claimed that pollution from the river has affected nearly 1 lakh acres across six constituencies in and around Hyderabad. The contamination is harmful to both the land and water, impacting farming activities.
Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy led the meeting and spoke about the serious effects of the polluted river. He said the pollution is ruining the lives of people in the combined Nalgonda district. According to him, the contaminated water not only harms current farming but will also affect future generations.
