Farmers fear loan waiver denial as delays in Dharani continue to haunt them

Hyderabad: Many farmers are worried about delays in resolving their Dharani applications, which are needed for government schemes like crop loan waivers. The State government is eager to implement the scheme, but farmers are still dealing with land disputes related to Dharani. Some farmers have had issues with their land being incorrectly categorized or facing other problems with their applications.

For example, farmer G Bhagawantha Reddy from Aler has been struggling to get back his two-acre farm land because of Dharani complications. He is concerned about missing out on government benefits due to the delays. Similarly, farmer A Parvatalu from Nagarkurnool has been trying for five years to correct a mistake in his name on his documents without success. He is now considering seeking help from higher officials in Hyderabad.

The Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) is dealing with the influx of farmers seeking assistance with their Dharani issues. They have been redirecting farmers back to their local offices for help. A recent video conference with District Collectors was held to review progress on resolving pending Dharani applications. Another meeting is scheduled for June 29 to provide updates on the progress.

Despite receiving about 2.5 lakh applications so far, there are still potentially 20 lakh disputes arising from Dharani. Authorities are working to resolve these issues quickly and undo any past mistakes. The process is ongoing, with more applications continuing to come in at revenue offices.
