Six individuals attacked a passenger at the Yadagirigutta bus stand after a dispute over a women’s quota seat in an RTC bus. The incident happened when a family from Secunderabad, named Bandi Nani and Maunika, visited the Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple. After their morning darshan, they went to the bus stand to return to Secunderabad at 5 pm. Nani and Maunika found men sitting in seats reserved for women, which led to an argument and a physical fight. The bus driver and conductor stopped the bus at the town police station, but eyewitnesses claim that they supported the attackers instead of helping the victims. A constable later counseled the injured couple. Despite Nani’s request to file a case against the assailants, no action was taken. Maunika took her husband to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Locals are angry at the behavior of the police, RTC bus driver, and conductor, accusing them of supporting the attackers instead of ensuring justice for the victims. This incident raises concerns about passenger safety and the role of authorities in handling such incidents.
