A new bridge in Hyderabad is almost ready to help ease traffic congestion near the Falaknuma Railway Over Bridge (RoB). The Parallel Railway Over Bridge, which has been under construction for the past four years, is expected to open to the public within a month.
The State government approved this project in 2018 to build a new RoB next to the existing one on the Secunderabad–Falaknuma Broad Gauge Line. The current bridge has only two lanes, making it difficult for vehicles to move smoothly. The new bridge will help improve traffic flow in the area.
Recently, Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Mubeen visited the construction site to review the progress of the work. He confirmed that the project is in its final stage and will be completed soon. During a late-night inspection, Mubeen and local officials saw that work was being done quickly. To assist with construction, some trains were either canceled or rerouted from midnight until the early morning.
The GHMC’s town planning department has finished its part of the work on both sides of the railway tracks. The South Central Railway (SCR) started its portion of the bridge construction two weeks ago. Once the railway-related work is completed, the GHMC will lay the road on the bridge. After this final step, the bridge will be opened for public use.
