Fake accounts are becoming more common on Twitter after the social media platform removed the blue tick verification for most public figures. One such account, claiming to belong to Pakistani cricket captain Babar Azam, recently urged Elon Musk to take down the real account of the cricketer, calling it fake. Similarly, a fake account claiming to belong to Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma asked fans to use a specific hashtag for a Q&A session. Azam is currently playing in a T20I series against New Zealand, while Sharma is leading the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. Both teams will be looking to build confidence ahead of the upcoming ODI World Cup.
