Garcetti called India and the US natural friends, and stated that their strategic and trade relations had never been stronger. He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visits to the White House and his meeting with US President Joe Biden during the G7 Summit in Japan.
Garcetti believes that India has made significant contributions to the world in the past and is an emerging power that can help create a better future. He was particularly impressed with Hyderabad during his visit, calling it the “future.” He visited T-Hub, a start-up ecosystem that translates ideas and dreams into reality and jobs. The ambassador also commended the Indian School of Business for not only contributing to building future Indian business leaders but studying business globally.
Garcetti tweeted about his visit to Hyderabad, stating that there was a reason why the Indian School of Business had partnerships with top US schools such as Northwestern, Penn, MIT, and Tufts. He expressed excitement about future partnerships and what ISB would do next. Garcetti also visited the Chowmahalla Palace and a clinic for the transgender community during his trip. Lastly, he mentioned that the US government was proud to open up its newest consulate in Hyderabad, which is unique.
