The Senior Citizen and Parental Care Tribunal in Choutuppal held a hearing on Saturday. The Chairman, Jagannath Rao, spoke about the importance of children taking care of their aging parents. He stated that while acquiring assets is important, it should not be prioritized over providing adequate care for parents in their old age.
The tribunal received complaints from parents in Choutuppal, Narayanapuram, Valigonda, and Ramannapet mandals. Both parents and children were called to present their arguments during the inquiry. The cases have been adjourned for further investigation.
During the hearing, Chairman Rao shared his own experiences with parental care. He talked about how his parents had taken care of him when he was young and emphasized the sacrifices parents make for their children. He warned that neglecting parental responsibilities could have legal consequences and could even result in properties acquired by the children being taken away.
Chairman Rao also highlighted the seriousness of the situation and advised parents against seeking external help due to neglect. He stated that police cases would be filed for any violations of the tribunal’s judgments.
