A Model United Nations (MUN) programme was inaugurated on Saturday at Slate CBSE School in Jannaram Mandal Centre, Mancherial district. This programme aims to help students build a global perspective, enhance critical thinking, and confidently express their ideas. Advocate P Sundar was the chief guest for the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Advocate Sundar explained that MUN is a simulation of the United Nations, where students act as representatives of different countries. They discuss and negotiate on important global issues, enabling them to gain knowledge about international relations, politics, and problem-solving.

Chairman Srikanth Reddy highlighted the importance of such programmes in the modern internet-driven world. He mentioned that MUN allows students to brainstorm solutions to pressing global issues like climate change, gender equality, education, and peace-building. In addition, it helps them develop essential life skills such as communication, collaboration, leadership, and decision-making.

Over 80 students eagerly participated in the event, engaging in discussions within committees like Lok Sabha, UNHRC, and ECOSOC. The programme provided a valuable platform for students to improve their public speaking, debating, and teamwork skills.

The committees were led by student chairpersons—Shreyas Reddy (Lok Sabha), Suprith Reddy (UNHRC), and Vallabha Reddy (ECOSOC). Under their guidance, participants actively discussed global challenges and proposed thoughtful solutions, making the event both educational and impactful.
