ED Questions IAS Officer in Bhudan Land Scam Investigation

Hyderabad: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned IAS officer Amoy Kumar for over seven hours regarding the allocation of Bhudan lands. Farmers had filed complaints against him, accusing him of forcibly acquiring these lands when he was the collector of Rangareddy and Medchal districts.

Amoy Kumar appeared before the ED, which is looking into the transfer of a valuable land parcel in Bhudan. This land is located in Survey No 181 at Nagaram, Maheshwaram mandal. During his time as collector, the land was handed over, and the ED is now investigating the matter. Amoy Kumar held the position of Collector during the previous BRS government.

At present, Amoy Kumar is serving as the joint secretary in the Animal Husbandry Department. During the investigation, ED officials discovered that 50 acres of Bhudan land were transferred illegally. A vigilance investigation brought this to light. A case has also been filed against the local Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO), and the probe revealed that the land was registered in the name of a private individual, who later sold it to a real estate company.
