The government in Rangareddy district has become active in implementing orders following the imposition of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in the state. They have been checking transportation of liquor and cash as well as conducting anti-defacing drives to remove wall writings, posters, and banners from public and private properties.

In the past four days, the election authorities and staff have removed a total of 13,234 wall writings, posters, and banners from public properties with no cases, and another 14,867 from private properties with no cases. Overall, there have been 36,342 cases of wall writings, posters, and banners reported in the district over the past four days, with 28,101 of them being removed by the EC staff as of Friday.

On Friday alone, there were 2,716 removals from public properties and 7,775 removals from private properties throughout the district. The highest number of removals from public properties were recorded in Shadnagar, Serilingampally, and Kalwakurthy constituencies. As for private properties, the most removals were done in Shadnagar, LB Nagar, and Serilingampally.

It is worth noting that no cases have been booked by the authorities for these violations of the MCC. Rangareddy is spread over an area of 5,032 sq kms and consists of eight assembly constituencies. The district has a total of 33,56,056 voters and 3,369 polling centers. The MCC came into effect on October 9 and will continue until December 5.
