Drug Disposal Committee destroys 872 kg of narcotics valued at Rs 2.25 crore

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGSANB) and the Cyberabad Drug Disposal Committee destroyed a large quantity of narcotic drugs on Tuesday. A total of 872 kilograms of drugs were incinerated at GJ Multiclave (India) Pvt Ltd, a bio-medical waste treatment and disposal facility in Edulapally village, Rangareddy district.

The drugs destroyed included 845.281 kilograms of ganja, three ganja plants weighing 61 grams, 26.819 kilograms of ganja chocolates, 7.5 milliliters of hashish oil, 9.168 grams of MDMA, and 502 grams of alprazolam. Officials stated that these substances were linked to various narcotics cases.

These drugs were part of 37 cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The cases were spread across five zones—Madhapur, Balanagar, Medchal, Rajendranagar, and Shamshabad—within the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits. A total of 12 police stations were involved in these cases.

The disposal process was conducted under the guidance of TGSANB Director Sandeep Shandilya and Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty. The Drug Disposal Committee, led by its chairman DCP Crimes K. Narasimha, included ACP Cybercrimes Ravinder Reddy, CCRB ACP Kalinga Rao, Narcotics Inspector Shivaprasad, and other team members.
