Speaking on the occasion, the Collector emphasized the importance of wearing helmets for two-wheeler riders and seat belts for car drivers. He also stressed the need to follow traffic signals, drive at controlled speeds, and avoid distractions such as mobile phone use while driving. Additionally, he reminded motorists to refrain from consuming alcohol and to ensure their vehicles have proper insurance, registration certificates, pollution clearance, and a valid driving license.
The Collector highlighted the government’s efforts to reduce road accidents by implementing safety measures. These include installing speed bumps and clear signboards in high-risk areas and dangerous turns to guide motorists effectively. He also assured that services from the district transport department would be made available more efficiently.
As part of the Road Safety Month celebrations, the district plans to organize special awareness programs to educate the public about road safety rules and regulations. These efforts aim to create a safer environment for all road users.
