A bus accident occurred near Borrollagudem village in the Dandu Malkapuram area of Choutuppal Mandal on Monday afternoon. An RTC bus overturned, leaving the driver and four passengers injured.
There were 48 passengers on board at the time of the accident. The bus, which was coming from Miryalaguda depot in Nalgonda district, was heading to Hyderabad.
According to the police, the driver heard unusual noises from the bus after passing through Choutuppal. He tried to stop the bus, but the brakes failed. Despite the driver’s quick actions, he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn beside the national highway.
Several passengers suffered injuries. Among them were Boppani Vijaya, a 45-year-old ration dealer from Auravani village, Marupaka Anitha, a 42-year-old from Perkakondaram village, and Bushapaka Andalu, a 45-year-old from Vaddepalli. Fortunately, their injuries were minor.
However, the bus driver, Aithagani Janaiah from Peddadevulapally village, sustained serious injuries to his back and spine. Additionally, an elderly woman on the bus suffered a severe head injury.
