Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has ignored the Supreme Court’s judgment regarding the classification of Scheduled Castes (SC). The decision to divide SCs into different categories goes against the Indian Constitution and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s ideology.

The nationwide caste census has not been completed yet, and there is no official data on the number of castes, their social and educational status, or their level of development and backwardness. Without this data, the classification of SCs should not be done. However, Revanth Reddy has suddenly announced the bifurcation of SCs, which is seen as unconstitutional and similar to the policies of the RSS.

Even BJP-led governments have not shown such eagerness to divide SC communities. Given this, SC organizations strongly oppose the bill and believe the Congress party must face consequences for this decision.
