A tragic road accident in Narsingi took the life of a young medical student, but her family’s selfless decision to donate her organs has given five critically ill patients a second chance at life.

N. Bhoomika Reddy, a 24-year-old house surgeon at Kamineni Hospital, LB Nagar, was returning from a friend’s wedding on February 1 when the car she was in crashed into a hoarding pole on Khanapur Road. Despite receiving intensive medical care for a week, doctors declared Bhoomika brain dead on February 8, according to Jeevandan Telangana. In the midst of their grief, her family made the brave decision to donate her organs, allowing her to save multiple lives even in death.

Through the Jeevandan initiative, Bhoomika’s liver, heart, lungs, and both kidneys were successfully transplanted into five patients in urgent need of medical intervention. Doctors praised this act of generosity, highlighting the life-saving impact of organ donation.

Bhoomika was the only daughter of Nangi Nandakumar Reddy and N. Lohitha. She had recently completed her MBBS and was undergoing her internship at Kamineni Hospital. Her untimely passing has left her family, friends, and colleagues heartbroken.

Although her loss is deeply painful, Bhoomika’s family has given hope to others through their decision to donate her organs. Her tragic accident has also raised concerns about road safety, with officials urging drivers to be more cautious and calling for improved safety measures on Khanapur Road to prevent future incidents.
