Nagar Kurnool: District Medical and Health Officer Dr. K. V. Swarajyalakshmi conducted surprise inspections of several healthcare facilities on Saturday. These included Desi Itikala Bastii Hospital, Pedda Muddanur, Vennacherla, Kodair, Pedda Kothapalli Primary Health Centres, and Nakkalapalli and Pasupula sub-health centres.

At Desi Itikala village, Dr. Swarajyalakshmi supervised the ongoing vaccination drive. She highlighted that the top priority is achieving 100% immunisation for children. She directed the staff to focus on increasing the number of institutional deliveries. She also stressed the importance of identifying high-risk pregnant women early and creating plans to ensure their safety during pregnancy and childbirth.

Dr. Swarajyalakshmi encouraged the effective use of 102 ambulance services for prenatal check-ups and child immunisations. She also instructed health workers to update seasonal disease information on the IHIP portal. Additionally, she emphasized the need for screening tests for hypertension and diabetes for everyone over the age of 30 visiting the hospitals, as a step toward preventing chronic diseases.
