In Gadwal, District Medical and Health Officer Dr. Sasikala led a rally in Jogulamba Gadwal district at Krishnaveni Chowk in preparation for National Deworming Day. The rally included activists chanting slogans as they marched from Krishnaveni Chowk to the old bus stand. Dr. Sasikala stressed the importance of deworming and announced that albendazole medication would be given out during the campaign.
Dr. Sasikala directed that albendazole tablets should be provided to Anganwadi Centers for children aged 1-5 years, where the tablets can be mixed with water after being powdered. For children aged 6-19 years, the tablets should be chewed and swallowed at junior colleges and schools. She explained that albendazole helps with anemia and nutrient absorption. Handwashing with soap before meals and after using the toilet was also highlighted as important. The district medical and health department staff actively participated in the program to ensure its success.
