District Collector Calls for Improved Healthcare Services in Gadwal
Gadwal District Collector B.M. Santosh has urged officials and staff to fulfill their responsibilities diligently to ensure better healthcare services for the public.
On Wednesday, the Collector made a surprise visit to the Primary Health Center (PHC) in Ayija. He inspected various sections, including the general ward, pharmacy, and laboratory. During the visit, he reviewed the hospital’s services, the number of deliveries conducted, seasonal disease control measures, referral registers, and the outpatient count.
In a meeting with the PHC staff, the Collector emphasized the need for quality healthcare services. He stressed the importance of maintaining hospital facilities and medical equipment properly. Special focus was placed on maternal health, with instructions to conduct timely blood, urine, and other diagnostic tests for early detection of diseases. In emergencies, patients were to be referred to the Gadwal District Hospital without delay.
The Collector also instructed officials to provide comprehensive medical services for outpatients and achieve the full completion of all health check-ups. He directed them to resolve minor issues, such as water supply problems, immediately. Engineering officials were specifically tasked with addressing these issues without further delay.
During the inspection, the Collector assessed the construction progress of a 30-bed ward at the PHC. He sought detailed reports on pending work and directed officials to expedite its completion to enhance healthcare facilities for the public.
Later, the Collector inspected the condition of the road from Ayija to Alampur Chowrasta. He instructed the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department to carry out immediate repairs and ensure that any pending road construction work is completed promptly. Officials were asked to work closely with contractors to meet deadlines.
The inspection was attended by Additional Collector Narsinga Rao, DMHO Siddappa, Dr. Vishnu, TSMSIDC EE Jaipal Reddy, Raheemuddin, R&B EE Pragathi, Kiran Kumar, and other health and administrative staff.
