NagarKurnool: On Friday, District Collector Badavath Santosh and MLA Dr. Vamsikrishna were chief guests at a Vanamahotsav event in Achampet town. This event is part of the Swachhdhanam-Pachhdhanam (Cleanliness and Greening) initiative.
Collector Santosh spoke about how trees are crucial for the survival of all living beings. He said that without trees, life would be impossible.
The district has set a goal to plant 4 million saplings. Significant progress has already been made, and efforts are ongoing to reach the target.
As part of the initiative, the district is focusing on planting trees along roadsides, in irrigation areas, lakes, rivers, and forest lands. They are identifying suitable spots for these activities.
Collector Santosh also highlighted the need to protect the trees after planting them. He mentioned that planting and safeguarding trees helps preserve nature for future generations.
The Swachhdhanam-Pachhdhanam program, which aims to improve sanitation and greenery, runs from August 5th to 9th. MLA Dr. Vamsikrishna said that the state government launched this initiative to increase greenery. He emphasized that everyone should plant and protect at least one tree.
The event was also attended by RDO Madhavi, the Municipal Commissioner, other officials, and staff.
