The district administration in Mahabubnagar, led by Returning Officer G Ravi Nayak, has issued a set of guidelines for the general public and political parties to follow for the next 72 hours after the end of political campaigning on May 13.

During a press conference at the collectorate, District Collector Ravi Nayak and SP Harshavardhan stated that measures have been taken to ensure compliance with the election code of conduct. Strict enforcement of law and order will be in place to prevent misuse of money power by political leaders to influence voters.

Naka bandies have been set up in all 7 assembly constituencies and major towns, with increased checks on commercial vehicles at interstate borders. The district is on high alert to prevent infiltration of anti-social elements, with strict vigilance at borders.

A ‘dry-day’ has been declared in the Palamuru region with no sale of liquor for the next 48 hours. Central armed police forces have been deployed at critical locations, especially at over 890 identified as critical polling stations.

Section 144 of Cr. Pc, 1973 has been imposed to ban unlawful assemblies and public meetings for 48 hours. House-to-house campaigning is allowed with a limit of 5 people gathering at a time. Use of loudspeakers is prohibited, along with any display of election materials in public.

Exit polls are banned, and media cannot publish results during the 72-hour silence period. Advertisements in print media must be certified by MCMC before publication. Over Rs. 2.46 crores in cash and 45069 liters of liquor have been seized by authorities.

31 candidates are contesting in the parliamentary elections in Mahabubnagar, with two EVM units at each polling booth. Voters are reminded to bring their ID cards and slips on polling day to cast their votes. The District Collector encourages everyone to participate in the democratic process and choose leaders wisely for a brighter future.
