Youth Urged to Stay Away from Drugs and Bad Habits
Gadwal: Additional District Collector (Revenue) Lakshmi Narayana has urged the youth to avoid drug addiction and harmful habits. Speaking at a coordination meeting of the Narcotics Control Committee on Friday, he highlighted the importance of creating awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.
The meeting, held in his chamber at IDOC, brought together officials from various departments. The Additional Collector directed them to take steps to educate young people about the negative impact of drugs. He also asked agriculture department officials to inform farmers about the legal consequences of growing cannabis.
Lakshmi Narayana appealed to citizens to support the fight against drug trafficking by reporting individuals involved in such activities. He instructed officials to conduct strict inspections of buses and vehicles passing through the district and to keep a close watch on border areas to prevent smuggling.
The Additional Collector emphasized that awareness programs are being carried out in schools, colleges, and villages in collaboration with government departments. He advised students to avoid bad habits during this important stage of their lives and instead focus on building a successful future.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including RDO Srinivasa Rao, DWO Sunanda, District Agriculture Officer Sakriya Naik, Intermediate Education Officer Hriday Raju, Medical Officer Sandhya Kiran, CI Srinu, and others.
